I want to learn how to crochet and I've been looking through lots of beginners videos and such on YT but I'm still finding it really difficult with my being a lefty and everything I see being for right handers.  Anyone here crochet and know of some good resources?

I can but mostly remembered via YT... I was taught years ago but took to knitting more.  But I'm right handed so not sure re left handed.  Can you Google left handed crochet and see what comes up? I enjoy it, it's faster than knitting I think.

I'll crochet a granny square if it kills me LOL!

Thank you ladies.  Not a whole lot comes up but I'll investigate YT again.  I find the videos are too fast moving mostly.  Mostly I've been ending up with a tangled ball of mess on the end of my needle.

I've seen that video.  It's good but I want to learn how to do a granny square.  There's a guy on YT called mikeysmail (or something) and he does a left handed one but he moves so fast.

I would take the wool and stop and start the video as I worked along with it.

I'll just keep at it I guess Smiley  I only got the niggle after I stayed in Lesley's house in scotland and had a huge blanket made out of granny squares and every one was different.  Beautiful!

Hi Salach, I decided to start to crochet some soap savers just before christmas and I bought a wonderful little book, very little, but it does have diagrams for left handed and right handed people, I am a bit of both cos I was taught to crochet by my mother who was a leftie, but I am right handed, so while crocheting I look totally cack handed whether you are a leftie or a rightie. Anyway, as I say this book is totally brilliant as it shows you how to start, from a complete beginner. It is called Crochet unravelled A clear and concise guide to learning t crochet. by Claire Bojczuk.
Hope this helps. Smiley
