I have been trying a bit of crochet too!! Have you seen that 'Knit and Stitch' magazine? It gives beginners instructions for knitting, crochet and embroidery. It comes with a DVD which is quite good....it's only for righties though  Sad. You get a free pair of knitting needles and two balls of wool. So far I think I have the hang of the chain and slip stitch...gonna try double crochet later!

The tutorial I used when learning were the Knit witch ones. They were fab.
