I wonder if I should dye my pussy to match my hair

« on: April 15, 2008, 07:14:07 PM »

Is anybody making, sewing, knitting etc anything at the mo. I have just finished a small quilt that was made using repro Dutch fabrics. I hate it, can't think why I ever bought the fabric apart from I was in Amsterdam at the time. But I have cut out the fabric for a chenille bag. I am going to give this to my daughter for her birthday I think.

I also cover terracotta pots and have one or two of those that need finishing as well as a scrapbook or 2 that need finishing as well.  Too many hobbies I have.  Happy Bounce

I'm crocheting; making me wax melts & doing the occasional bit of cross stitch.

Other than that, you may like to know I make the occasional croap.  :mwaha:

I can only seem to have one hobby at a time. I throw myself into them 100% then I usually get bored. So far hasn't happened with soap  Wink

I'm crocheting another hat for Child - she says her felted climbin/rambling hat is a bit too warm on some days (well she did want one which wouldn't let the wind through).

So I'm using some hand spun and dyed almost DK ply which I bought in Masham and will leave it unfelted, might brush it though.

(bl**dy boring - just double crochet, am tempted to put a random blob [crochet version of bramble stitch] dotted around)

Hmm, blobs sound good EJ, adds texture to an otherwise plain textured piece of apparel.  Grin

Brownies? Never eat them. Unless they're warm and covered in cream.  :mwaha:

Not sure whether I'll have enough wool for blobs - not using a pattern. I have 2 balls of wool so will see how far down the hat-block I get with one.

In any case it's a practical hat  - not a fashion accessory (might put a pocket on the side).

I'd really like to make some soy wax melts just to use at home, can anyone point me toward a supplier of wax, fragrance etc, I've looked at candelights but they are out of stock of a couple of key things I'd need.
I'd love to have something vanilla-ry, I usually buy the French Vanilla Yankee Candles but I fancy having a go myself.

There's candle stuff here.

Thornes Beekeeping has a range of stuff also.

Thanks Elaine, I don't want to make candles, just the little wax melts to put in an oil burner.  I could just buy some ready made from ebay but I want to make them, more fun that way!

I'm cross stitching (fifth girl in my family to do it) and learning how to bake, if that counts as being crafty!

I've nearly finished a knitted and felted bag.  Just got to sew on flowers and leaves...I'm not keen on the sewing up part of knitting.
