How do these sell ?

I was looking into making some for myself as they seem to have a nice subtle smell (I hate plug-in air fresheners) and came across these photos, and thought they'd be ideal to fill the gap left by me phasing out whipped shea over the summer:

that looks like such a crowd puller - those large containers can be had from Ikea for a couple of squid, not sure where to get the little bottles from though, they look cute, but probably not very useful for aroma beads as the exposed surface is so small.

are they special beads or just rubbery beads with FO and colour? Im confused!

they are rubbery/plastic beads which soak up FOs (and colour) and then release them slowly.

Kev used to sell them, I think. It's kind of like a potpourri, but without the dusty dead flowers (not a fan...). I love the way these can be coloured, not sure yet where to the the colours from though, apparently I will need to use liquid candle dye, I am assuming any oil soluble colour would be fine as well. Hmmm....thinking day-glo-colours....

Perhaps MP colours, or even food colouring, would work just fine; those are translucent.

apparently they don't work, possibly as they are water soluble.

SP does have a large range of liquid candle colours and with aroma beads I am not restricted to UK sellers...I can buy any FO and Dye I like - YAY (my poor bank account)

Lol, this morning I was just looking for myself...now I am seeing possibilities...sigh, always the same :mwaha:

haha I saw the room spray base and had to contain myself, I looove room sprays  :mwaha:

Thatsa lot of beads in those pots though and they work out pretty expensive a kilo, best buying in bulk.

I use candle colours in mine but often leave uncoloured. I prefer them with essential oils they seem to absorb quicker too, its not such a fafgf shaking the jar for 10 mins 3 times a day for about a week lol. Some of the Fos took ages.

Dont forget you can use the candle fragrances so if SP is doing a sale it can work out much more reasonable.

Be warned you need a warning notice wit them they can marlk fabrics, wood and leather so shouldnt be strewn across.

thanks Michelle - I have seen, they aren't exactly cheap, where do you bulk-buy them ?

And yes, having my eye on SP and BrambleB sale pages....my bank card is itching me in my pocket  :mwaha:

I find they don't really sell as they are, but I bake them and make them into car fresheners or put them into an organza bag to hang in the wardrobe etc. and they sell really well. In fact, car fresheners are probably my best product.

Those jars full would be sooooo expensive! It takes 30g of FO to make up with 100g beads for 130g of the finished product. Pricy if you want to use a lot of them...

I have heard good things about this site in the US to buy them in bulk as SP is VERY expensive for them!

Thats the one Kev, didnt they do a group buy on another forum we used to frequent,

I orgnaza bag mine too about 10g in a bag and offer them chance of one refill for half price. I hav successfully refreshed mine twice but I usually say only once
