Hello and welcome - you'll find a lot of info here and more on the Main site in Resources (more still if you make more posts).

How is your name pronounced? (I tend to say Gaelic words in my head as though they were Welsh - it doesn't work!!)

Hi Gealbhan!!

A warm welcome from me.  What an interesting subject to study and I can imagine you will create some wonderful products using your knowledge of herbs and it will be interesting hearing about your creations.  I hope you find the forum helpful and supportive to your study  Smiley  :buttrf:

Wow! Thanks for the great hellos! yea, gealbhan is sorta like "gayl-vahn".

Yes, studying with the glasgow school on their access course at the mo for the BHS hons. degree programme. Did an apprenticeship with an American herbalist a few years ago too. It was she who got me into making herbal cosmetics! :-)

I look forward to speaking to y'all on the forums!

Thanks for doing the phonetic version of your name, I was mispronouncing it (says Gail Bawn - Bhán in Irish is white).

Anyways, welcome and hello! Friend of mine lives in Glasgow too.

hi, yea, don't actually live in glasgow. Live in the northeastern most corner of scotland in caithness. The herb med school is correspondance and long weekend per month courses. Quite convenient for those that live remote. ;-)

I get up there occasionaly - friend in Watten and one in Helmsdale (who has unfortunately stopped smoking salmon and other stuff - I used to pick up a bottle of Ardbeg at the distillery in Tain and swap it for a side of smoked salmon).

oh, have you ever stopped at the highland fine cheeses factory in tain? Besides their well known crowdie they do one called Hramsa which is crowdie with chopped wild garlic... Divine. They sell all their cheeses out the backdoor of the factory. Watten is about 20 miles northwest of me. I often pick alot of hawthorn berries near there. Great hedgerows that side of the county!
