HP Soap is NOT rough and soft!

« on: January 31, 2009, 07:52:06 PM »

I could go to the firm mentioned by Corrie. 'cos even though the prices have gone up they're still good value.

But my stall will be covered with natural hessian (might get some green instead) with medium stained wooden display boxes and platforms and steamed willow (dark buff) wicker baskets; dark wood trellis at the back or sides (depending on type of stall) for hanging the larger corn dollies.

But I'm not sure about a PVC banner.

They say they can print right to the edges - so I could put all the graffics on a texture background - wonder if there's an extra charge for all that ink (better phone them.

However it's still going to be glossy.

They don't look glossy. I'm sure you could set the background for the whole thing with a hessian look, mine has a cream/yellow background with the pics & text on top. The material its printed on actually has a hessian look to it, tiny squares, not plastic.

I had a banner off ebay recently which was around a tenner I think inc postage- just remembered I forgot to leave feedback, i'll be popular!  It turned out ok Now I have just got to find a place to display it , and have the nerve to go and put it up (its a dog grooming one and I want to put it on a fence by the road-dont know what permission you need to was just going to go-for-it)
Anyway I would have thought it would look perfectly good EJ-Corries one looks nice and 'naturalish'

That looks as though it would be OK, thanks Corrie. I'll phone them on Monday.

Elaine I think your stall sounds very nice, rather earthy and natural. I don't think a pvc banner would spoil your stall at all, especially if it's like the one Corrie showed.
I really don't think customers would be bothered or put off and you are still creating a theme and not detracting from it at all.
I suppose colour is as important as anything as well, rather than focussing too much on the material. Your banner could really show - off your stall regardless of what it is made of.
I've got visions of a crimson colour amongst all that redness-just to give it a bit of punch. That would be nice for Autumn. My brain is rambling now so I will stop!!
I have thought about hessian to wrap my soaps. yesterday we all went to the farmers market and there was a lady selling raspberry vinegar in elegant tall glass bottles. It was a beautiful raspberry colour (obviously) and she had wrapped the tops of her bottles in small cuts of hessian with a ribbon around. Very nice it was. I will look for a pic if I can.
