 Joy!

Hello everyone,

I spent some time browing around a handmade soap stall recently, and it's completed inspired me to have a go.

Can anybody be good enough to recommend a soap making course in or around Kent/London?

Also, would it be cold press that I would start with?

Looking forward to your replies.

Hi Kay and welcome to The Melting Pot  Hi!

I'm not sure about cold processing courses in your area but not everyone who makes soap have necessarily done a course.  Some learn by reading all they can then giving it a go.  However, I realise some people learn better by being shown.  I'm sure there'll be courses in your area but I can't be more detailed than that but have just put my feelers out for you  Wink

Melinda Coss does hold some in London - there are London contact details on this page
and Eynsham Soap are in Oxford area which may be too far for you.

I wrote a kind of account of the weekend I lost my soap virginity.  It is in resources on the main site.  It may give you some motivation, you never know  Wink

I'm not an addict either and I'm never making soap ever, ever again after yesterday.

PS made another batch today. Pot Popcorn

 :mwaha:

Actually, Jane from Eynsham Soap Company emailed me earlier today.  She explained that she does do courses (hers tend to me more one on one or two students at a time - which can be very beneficial I think) and is based about 5 miles west of Oxford (if that helps you Kay).  She said to have a look on her website.  She said that Melinda runs courses in London and caters for larger groups.  Those details can be found on her website.

I hope that helps you Kay  Smiley

Excellent, I will definitely try to get to Eynsham, work allowing.

Actually, I ordered Melinda's book from Amazon last night, plus two other soap ones..........mmm, guess I've started down the road.

Right off to read the account of how you lost your soapy virginity now.
