Ok so since we opened we've had people asking if we sell cards, as many buy gifts from us so they kinda go together. Anyway we didn't cos there are about 15 other shops in town that sell cards, including a Hallmark shop a few metres away! We thought it would be a bit stupid and pointless and we'd not sell any, and be stuck with a load of cards, but people kept asking so we thought, ok ok if you insist.

But of course then there was the 'where shall we get them from? Plus they need to be handmade and fit with our 'look'. So yeah, I thought, it's not like I don't have enough to do, ya know we average a grands takings a week and 90%+ is stuff I made from scratch and oh yeah I have a huge house to maintain and then yeah I have the kids/pets oh and a husband (who is feeling more and more neglected.................)

But anyway, armed with a pair of scissors, some card blanks/envelopes random crafty bits, copydex (boy is that stuff fun!) and a sense of adventure I knocked up 20 cards whilst dinner was cooking and Nat was going 'zoom zoom' with the guillotine I did for the straight lined things (ok, just call social services, you'd be doing him a favour, I mean a 3 year old and a guillotine..................)

Anyway we put them in the shop yesterday afternoon, they've just sold out!

I now need to make more.................................... can anyone tell me why I do this to myself  Roll Eyes

Oh and one lady bought 5 and apparently raved about them, and a few people have said they are so good they are gonna stick them in a frame like a picture (yup nutters I know, but hey I think it now makes me an officially professional card maker)  :mwaha:

Wow! I don't know how you do it! All that stuff making, the house and all the rest. You must have some amazing energy levels besides a clever head on your shoulders. I'm so impressed and jealous at the same time.   Wink
Do you have the Cameo cutter to do the job for you?

But very well done you!  :buttrf:

BTW, where did you place the pics of 'em cards then?  Popcorn

Coffee, coca cola, sugar and knowing there's quite a few people who can't wait to say 'I told you so' when I fail keeps me going  :mwaha:

I don't have a cameo, I want one but for now I'm managing with scissors and the guillotine, funny thing is the cards are actually very simple and easy, just people seem to like them! I guess if the soap career goes tits up I have something to fall back on  Grin

er pics, um I sold the cards already  :mwaha: ....................... might have a couple on my phone, will look once I've finished this batch of soap.............

Eire's child makes cards which are lovely

Maybe you could commission some arty cards (think art/architecture student) to compliment your products and shop style and then they would still be unique, but all you'd have to do is get them printed :buttrf:

Lovely cards.

Erm, do you sleep, or have you actually found a time machine which adds hours to your day?

I sleep about 4 - 5 hours a night (mostly on the floor, pesky prolapsed disc)

I find that rarely eating, having nothing that would resemble a social life and never sitting still for more than 5 minutes helps, of course as well as the shop we've got 2 big fairs to do next week and loads of family who have decided to descend on us for half term, and Helenas ill and ................ ah well one day it will all be worth it right  Shrug?

Janie I love those and I love the idea of having cards for sale.  If you don't mind I would like to borrow your idea and bring in some cards for Christmas....

I wish I had your energy - I would be making some too, but I couldn't keep up with you even in my dreams....  :mwaha:
