Not for me but a friend  Smiley  Am I right in thinking that you would need a food hygiene certificate, insurance and to notify TS if you were about to make cakes and sell them (even if only to family and friends but still taking a small profit) or are their different rules in that case?

I think after all the paperwork, checks, insurance, assessments etc I happily underwent to sell CP and other bath bits I find it boggling that other people don't need to do as much to sell stuff...or do they?!

Your friend will need a Food Hygiene Certificate and will need to check with the Local Authority as apparently each one may have different requirements (wouldn't you know it?)

food hygiene cert definitely.

not sure about the rest, but I think the rules are less stringent for cakes than for soap, which always makes me laugh

Well any of the food - once you have a FHC and approved scales you can invent a jam recipe and sell without an SA - always struck me as odd also.
