Hello!
What a great forum, can't believe I haven't discovered this website before now!!!
I'd like to introduce myself - my name is Caroline and I have spent about a year making candles, wax melts, bath bombs, soap, solid perfumes, lip balms... my kitchen has seen no end of mixing, melting, sieving and moulding!!! I've had great fun and sold quite a few of my items, given loads away and I have three children who have to explain to their friends why they are always covered in glitter and smell of flowers!! (two of them are boys, poor kids!!)
However, after giving it all some very serious thought I decided that I am going to go into business.
My real passion is bath bombs, and my new venture is selling my bath bombs to trade. So now the stress, sleepless nights, mania and, of course, fun has begun!
What a legal minefield! I think I'm finally getting through it all though... but all a lot more complex than I thought!! REALLY want to make this work though!
Looking forward to meeting lots of other members who are passionate about bath bombs, bubbles and lotions and potions!! xx

Hello Caroline and welcome to the madness that is making and selling soap and soap related things!

We demand like photos.

Thank you everyone for your lovely welcomes!!
I will happily post some pics of my bath bombs! So nice to have people who aren't yet sick of hearing me talking about my bath bombs, shoving them under their nose or showing them pics! Hee hee!
This is all growing so quickly for me right now, it's both scary and exciting. I'd love to chat to anyone who is just setting up in business too!
Now, I've never actually posted on a forum before so I'm hoping everything is quite straightforward...

Hello Caroline - welcome aboard.

I gsve up on bathbombs - not really enough room to have them sitting around drying.

Do you have a bathbomb press (if you're aiming for trade).

No, I don't have a press... I make them like little fairy cakes in tiny cases. I use a small size ice cream scoop would you believe! I market them as bath bombs - kind of a generic term for them - but they do have cocoa butter and sweet almond oil in so they are a bit of a melt too...
They're very simple really, I just really go to town with decorating them!
Making, mixing and moulding becomes a little boring sometimes (when I'm doing large amounts) so the decorating part really makes up for that!!

I also love making solid perfume. I'd like to get into it a bit more but the cost of jars and tins is so expensive!! Makes you wonder how you can find lipbalms etc in such cheap shops, sometimes it would be cheaper to buy cheapo products and dispose of the product just to use the packaging!!!

There are plenty of resources for bottles & jars on here, you probably can't see much at the moment but as you post more boards open up to you. Then there's the main site (log in separately) and there's a whole lot more there.
I'm thinking we need some pics from you Wink
