Finally I've made it! Just wanted to say hi.. thanks Helen for the technical help getting onto the forum.
I'm a total novice soap maker, I've made four batches now and I'm hooked! I can feel a change of direction coming on. Site looks brilliant, looking forward to exploring it more and posting some pics of my efforts Grin

Hello and welcome.

Lots of info here (and more boards to see when you've made more posts).

What method of soapmaking have you been having a go at?

I've been doing some cold process soap making- tried a few recipes from the Melinda Coss
book.. today I've made a batch just using the lye calculator iphone app, so no idea what that will turn out like!
A lot of the recipes in the book seem to use animal fats or palm oil, which I don't want to use, so I've gone for olive oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter, with a small amount of shea and s.almond oil. I've tried doing a swirl in it as well, so looking forward to seeing the results..

Thanks! Swirl was a bit of a flop, the colour just sat on the top. I will post a pic of it anyway, when I've found my camera lead..
