I've got 2 fairs this weekend and the one on Sunday is outside. I've requested a shady stall. I've also got a cool box and ice packs so I can keep butters under the table, but then I'll have a really sparse table and it's one of those big market tables. Any bright ideas anyone, how can I make the stall look full?

Difficult one. Do you have props? Any that suit your overall look of your stall? -

Fill out with brochures?
What about a filler such as a lovely glossy large leaftet that explains that pruduct? So a nice big one next to the butter that explains the properties of the oils etc,? It might add an extra touch of professionalism if they look, try, buy and you get them one from the cooler, so they would know they are getting a product that hasn;t been sitting out for ages

Sorry, I'm useless but I'm in t he same position with my Merchant's market and as yet I don;t know what to do with the table?

Hmm leaflets is not a bad idea, I'm worried about the testers too. You and me must be the only people hoping for cold weather this weekend  :mwaha:

I was just about to post the same thing then saw your post. I had a craft fair today that was outside i knew it was going to be a hot day so didn't bother taking my bath melts and butters. But by the end of the day even the candles started going a bit soft on the top. But worst of all the soaps( i make melt and pour) has all started to sweat a bit, and has got little moisture droplets on them. They were all shrinkwrapped but i guess it was just too hot. So now i have about 15 loafs of sliced soap that i only made this passed week, and now i don't think is any good.  I've put it all in the cold garage now to see if it does any good, but has anyone else any ideas how i can save it?

Vicky - Get a lint free cloth, some surgical spirits and gently wipe the moisture off (read that in a book, not tried it)  :buttrf:

I did a fair yesterday too, it was about 30 deg where we were. Crikey, it was a scorcher! My candles all started to melt too, but they are in jars, so no biggie. My wax melts held up a little better (I should have taken some ice packs for them!) But overall the heat made the aroma waft from my store, and many people commented.

Some nice flowers & rustic tree branches can look quite good.

That's a good idea Lulu, little binches of fresh lavender, some small bowls of calendula etc... Things that are relevant to what you do, so the customer see's the raw materials that you work with.

Thanks polly i'll give it a try. The ones with a flat top, so the shrink wrap was tight to it are ok. It was the ones with the textured tops were on parts of it there was a tiny gap between the shrinkwrap and soap that has the moisture problem. It doesn't normally get that hot here on the northeast coast.

Its a flipping pain in the neck - either you are worried about being drowned, blown away or your stuff melting.
