Hello everyone! This is my second go at this so sorry if you get two from me.
My name is Kat and Im a secondary school teacher in Hertfordshire. I recently got bit by the natural cosmetics bug when recovering from yet another bout of surgery. Im completely in love with making my own remedies now and it has given me a really positive and de-stressing project away from work work work!

Now, Im a total beginner so please bare with me if I ask lots of stupid questions Embarrassed I do aim to sell my products online in the future (eek!) and am currently wrestling with the whole safety assessment saga...eg how many do I really need and just how comprehensive should they be and, oh yeh, can I afford any on my teacher's salery! Any advice about the whole assessment, public liability, PIF, lablelling nightmare would be VERY much appreciated.

I look forward to sharing chat and pics with you alll
Kat

Hi Kat, nice to have you onboard. Firstly and most importantly, we need pics, doesn't matter how new you are, no excuses. Grin Honey loves pics, so you need to feed that.
Sorry to hear about your surgery, hope you are on the mend.
Safety assessment is complex, but there is loads of info on the forum if you search.
Also, spend sometime on resources, there is a wealth of info there.
Finally, a question is only stupid if you don't know the answer and won't ask, how else do we learn. You won't be putting anything out there that we all haven't asked at some point, we all start somewhere, usually at the beginning. If you can't find the info you need, please do ask.
I hope you enjoy it here, it's a friendly forum and has a good bunch of helpful people.

Welcome Kat!

I am the "we need pics" Queen (apparently, I don't remember the crowning though) - so remember if you make anything, we need to see it.  And that includes what you might think ugly too (even ugly products have a place in this world!).   :mwaha:

Whereabouts in Herts are you? My hubs is from there, Barnet way.

Do you like the word 'naking'? Sounds like naked making! Best not as a beginner using caustic soad. Speaking of which...I cant find it on Fresholi, and I refuse to buy from some of the less lovely supliers x

Helen doesn't sell lye, Kat. But you can get it in hardware places and some supermarkets if you want to buy a small qty before ordering from a supplier.
Naking - you are going to fit in so well.
What subjects do you teach?

Hello, Kat - Welcome! Honey is serious about the pictures - she's only asking where you live so she can hunt you down if you don't post any.  :mwaha: You'll have  a great time here!
