Hello!

I thought I had better introduce myself - first, I am Nicola, and I live in the North-west of England and second, I apologise for any daftness if this goes haywire (I have bothered Helen already just to get registered correctly), but this is the first time ever that I have joined a forum. It is all down to Helen's great shop and customer service that I have written. I would have actually felt guilty if I hadn't!

I don't know how much to say - I don't get out much - sorry if I "talk" too much in future! I am sure I will be asking questions before this week is out, because I have a box of stuff now that I need to make things with; now I have been brave enough  to actually contribute rather than lurk, I am sure the world will be my mollusc. Anyway, you all seem nice from what I have read so far...be gentle!

I make soaps and Body butters and just made my frist CP soap today.

Well, thank you for replying - I feel a bit better now!

As to what I make, I am a bit of a newbie at "unguent" making (as my husband calls it) as well as forums. I have been crafty (knitting, crochet, embroidery) for many, many (sigh) years, and at one stage a while ago was very interested in essential oils and making my own stuff: When I had anaphylaxsis 20 years ago and blistered all over, the only thing I could cleanse with was yoghurt and lavender oil, which worked wonders - why did I stop? Nice commercial bottles I expect. Since then I have always had and used essential oils in the house, but have only recently started to look seriously at making my own cleanser, moisturiser and so on.

Oh no lots of replies - I haven't been this popular in years! (I told you I would talk too much). Well you are bringing it on yourselves.

Yes, I do know about the pictures - as soon as I figure it out I will be photographic I promise.

My box has some base oils, EOs of course, and I have some butters in the fridge - I need to make some body butter type stuff first, then cleansing oil and some body scrub (it is all planned regimentally - I used to be a teacher!)

Welcome! You know already we love pics so whenever you get your box of goodies, you can post pics of what you've made with them.

The more you post (talk!), the more boards will open for you ... welcome, enjoy, don't forget the pics!

Welcome. I am in the north west of England too.

Sounds like it is all Helen's fault. :mwaha:

A box of stuff is very dangerous indeed. Daft is good, and we insist on piccies!

Goodness me - I am nearly overwhelmed. How lovely of you all to say hello. And others from my locale! Although I have to say I am only an honorary northerner by dint of marriage to a local boy - I am originally from down south near where "The Office" was set. 30 years up here have made some think I sound northern. My very very old dad is a geordie however, and no-one can beat them at being northern I think!

My box of stuff is to be attacked for the first time tomorrow and I have read all the recipes you have very kindly provided as resources as well as some books- it will be a body cream of some sort using the mango butter (mainly because I love the smell and idea and love mangoes if I get over the guilt of air miles). It has to be a moisturiser for both me and my elderly mum's legs and simple so I understand the ingredients. I am looking forward to finally putting my reading into practise. I will take pictures but it might take me a while to figure out how to attach them - you all seem so talented though that my stuff will be a bit sad I think!

Hello Nicola - welcome in.

Lots of info here but do ask if you're not certain of anything.
