Hello,

I heard about this forum a while ago from someone on the dish forum (I was new there and a little scared, and sought some moral support from a kindly poster who I saw was UK based!) but promptly got swept up in research.

I'm finally here, and from the little look around I've just had, it seems very warm and welcoming!

Thank you in advance!!

I'm new to formulating and mostly interested in non-soapy things like moisturisers and scrubs. I started off making sugar/salt scrubs when I couldn't find a good one in the shops and have now been sucked in!

So far I can only claim scrub and toner but am this weekend putting together the final bits and pieces for my first lotion. I'm at that faffing about stage trying to make sure I don't forget anything and deciding on the right combo of oils. I'm so close now!

Nice to meet you all!

Welcome Lyndsay! I make soaps, body butters, lip balms (all for sale) and creams (not for sale).  Lots of people here who make creams/lotions etc.. I've not tried a scrub yet but I plan to!

Just a quick note to say we adore pics, so if you've anything to show us... well make sure you do  :mwaha: and the more you post, the more boards will open for you.

Hello Lyndsay and welcome.

I make all sorts of stuff - currently well into herbal balms.

We did think about a FAQ but didn't get very far so if you want to know anything just shout out ('cos there's a lot of topics to search on and it can take ages).

Hello and welcome!  Hi!

I also make all sort of things but no soap yet (they are trying to lure me to the dark side but I stand firm).
Did anyone mention we love pics?  :mwaha:

Thank you everyone for the lovely welcome!

I've not really made much for pictures yet. I did make a love chocolate/cinnamon scrub that I put bicarb in (I guess I read it somewhere...).

Overnight it swelled up and looked pretty terrifying in the pot, so I had to get my partner to open it as the force made it too tough for me and it promptly exploded all over the kitchen...

(I'm not sure if I've done the picture correctly)

Oopsie daisy  :mwaha:

Bicarb is actually a rather good scrub element (providing there is no broken skin) but it seems that it created a choccy bomb in this case - could be a novelty  Wink   :mwaha:

Thanks for the pic (it'll keep honey off your back, for the time being at least  laughing )

ha, yes, it did add a kind of "exciting element"!

Surprisingly enough it ended up making quite a nice "cakey" texture, a bit like a oven baked souffle, which was nice to use. Meltingly-firm ish.

That's rather a new take on a bath bomb... scrub bomb?

BTW you lot are horrid to me, you'd swear I was a pic addict.

Ok, ok.. I am.  But so are you lot too!!!
