Happily soaping in Spain

As you can see, it's a combination of (some) rose petals and (mostly) rosebuds.

I've looked at prices elsewhere. They seem to go for about 100 g @ £3.00 + VAT for petals, and 100 g @ £4.80 +VAT for rosebuds.

So here's the deal.

Minimum order 250 grams.
I will sell up to a kilo, but when my 'spare'  kilo is gone, that's it.
Price will be £7.50 for 250 grams. No VAT.
Shipping from Spain not included (but they are light!)

If you're interested let me know! And if interest is high, I can buy more next time we pop over to Tangier!

Guys, let me know if you think the price is out of line. I'm not trying to get rich.

OK, I'm guessing that the postage price is worrying you!

The postage for 500 g from Spain to the UK is £10.80 not signed for, and £13.10 signed for.

So the "unsigned for" cost is still less than it would be to buy rosebuds from, say, SK. Plus you don't have to pay VAT.

No problems if it is too high for you, I'm sure I will eventually use it all myself!

FYI - I made my first batch of "True Rose" soap today, containing crushed rose petals put into the "mix", and 20 grams of rosebuds on the top. Plus 30 ml of rose essential oil (also purchased in Morocco).

It smells and looks divine - will post photos when we cut it.

I haven't, as yet, explored botanics but they are really pretty rosebuds indeed - and fab soap too.

I am working with someone from Morocco at the moment and he told me that most of the rose EO comes from there. I will have to ask him what time of year the harvest is, would eb lovely to see Morocco blooming in roses...

lujos, how long did you macerate them for? Do you think any of the aroma would hold with adding the macerated oil after cook in HP?
