Sorry to post this and I know  I'm being a big baby, but I just opened my email from the Merchant city people and it's bad news. Here's a copy:
2nd March 2010

Dear Crafter

I am sorry to inform you that all future bookings with Merchant City Market have to be cancelled. Once again there have been problems with Kevin Maguire and the market. Subsequently he has withdrawn his permission for the Restaurants to have control of the central square area. This in turn affects our use of the square.

I am deeply upset at the outcome and you should be very wary of his intentions if a market was ever to be held in Merchant Square again.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who supported me and I hope you all can understand that this was a situation totally out with my control. It does seem ironic that for the last year Kevin Maguire has been happy with the market.

Wishing you all the very best for the future.

Julie

I have only just placed a large order for soap and one for tins a I had 26 fairs booked between now and Xmas. I'm rather upset at the momenyt and I KNEW it was too good to be true. Craft fairs in my area are very few so I choses Glasgow as that was very frequent. I know have t orethink things and don;t know where to start

Oh my God! That is dreadful... is this the one you were going to do every second weekend? What a disappointment.  I hope you can find something else maybe.

Oh Polly, I'm so sorry for you, what a blow. Sounds like a bit of a nightmare for the organiser. I really hope you can find something else. Or maybe you could focus your energy selling online? Big hugs, keep your chin up  big hug :buttrf:

Thanks Honey & Rachael,

I was sooo happy the past few weeks as things but not now. I'm quite upset so I'm signing off - not least cos I;ll just moan on hee an that's not good for anyone.

Thanks for the hugs, I'll be better tomorrow once i can get things in perspective

Oh Polly - how disheartening for your first season! you have my sympathies.

First thing to decide is whether to cancel your large orders (Distance Selling Regs. etc.) and asked for them to be reinstated as smaller ones; it may seem defeatist but would help your cashflow figures.

I don't think I have any venu lists bookmarked for your area - but will check.

That is really bad luck Polly.  I hope that something else comes up for you.
