Hi everyone
Just wanted to say how pleased I am to have found this lovely forum.  I'm in Edinburgh and I've only been making soap since August this year, so I'm still a beginner with lots to learn.

My first batch was HP and was the most ugly soap ( think I overcooked it, had to mash it into the mould) but such a delight to use.  I decided to try CP for a smoother texture and haven't looked back since.

For me making soap is an escape from my hectic day job, it's so nice being able to create something lovely I can enjoy using every day.  Smiley

So far I've only made soap but who knows, maybe now I'm here it'll encourage me to try bath bombs or lotion for myself.

I made my first batch of HP soap the other night and it didn't come out too bad. I did post piccies.

Very adddictive habit is soap making :mwaha:

Hi Paloma,

A very warm welcome where you may be inspired to do som spotty poohs, croap and even try your hand at a bit of pongy slurry  Wink  I have certainy been more than inspired by the wealth of talents, experiences and ideas from everyone who contributes.  I made my first soaps a few weeks ago and yes, it certainly is an escape alright.  Problem is, I have all this soap curing all over the kitchen, what do you do with it all - Soapy christmas presents I guess  :mwaha:

Creams and in particular potions are my comfort zone but I am still yet to try some HP (that is on the cards though  Wink)

Anyway, welcome and I hope you enjoy mingling with such a lovely bunch  Smiley

Hello Paloma,

It's a lovely friendly forum and there are lots of tutorials and information resources which Helen has collected.

I make MP and stuff to put in the bath but haven't tried HP, CP or lotions and potions (make ather things not connect with bath and toiletries also).

Enjoy yourself here.

Welcome Paloma, and we're not really "slightly dotty", I think completely barking is probably more accurate.    :mwaha:

I have no idea what you're on about Helen.  I think your tights are too tight round your head.  :mwaha:

Steady Nora.  Looking at your "beadwork" thing on another thread, could you not make beaded hairnets to add to your Xmas pressies?  :mwaha:

Sorry Paloma, this is what happens when you start a perfectly innocent thread!

Ahem, ladies, control yourselves!
Hi Paloma, I'm nearer Glasgow myself, lots of good stuff here and plenty of helpful people too. But do share, why call yourself "dove"? Is it a soap reference? If so that is just too clever by far!
