Hi all,

I have an idea I would like to try out (not B&B) but in order to do it I need some bath bomb mix (2 parts bicarb / 1 part citric acid). I've had a look at the suppliers and they mostly only sell huge amounts or the postage is really high and I can't really justify it seeing as it is an experiment.

So, would anyone be willing to send me 500g-1kg of this mix ? I will happily pay you for it and all postage, as well as sending you the finished 'experiment' to try out too!

Thanks,

Kevin x

I am sorry, I can't send you any, as I am running short, but I buy my Bicarb at the WingYip (1.50 for 2kg) and the citric acid should be available at pharmacies. Saves on p&p and the bicarb is much cheaper at food supply stores, especially chinese ones.

Thanks ladies!

I *think* I know where there's a chinese supermarket in walking distance of work so I will go and look tomorrow lunchtime. Do you think I will get Citric in Boots or Superdrug??

Thanks EJ  Smiley Smiley

Will try out the shops tomorrow and let you know tomorrow evening if I was unsuccessful, if that's ok? But I wouldn't mind if it is mixed or not Smiley

Fine - I don't think I would manage to get to the PO tomorrow anyway judging by the amount of snow and ice (steep hill whichever way I go).

kevie, try a pharmacy (not Boots, a real one ;-)), they should have citric acid, but may ask funny questions. Try not to ask for empty syringes at the same time...

Haha!

I went into the pharmacy in the Sainsbury's near where I work and asked if they sell it this morning. They only had little 50g boxes and I told them I need MUCH more than that.

The lady then asked me exactly what I wanted it for in such large quantities. She then proceeded to tell me that they don't sell it in large quantities as it's the main substance drug dealers use to cut heroin with. I was completely shocked!

There is a home brew shop here in Norwich (the UK's largest apparently...) so I will go there after work as they sell 500g for £3.00. A bit more than I can get it online but it's the convenience and P&P savings I suppose.

lol, that's why I mentioned the syringes - my OH's dad (he's 60 years old and looks it) went into a pharmacy to get some Citric Acid to clean some pipes on his sailing boat. He also needed to do some silicone work and asked for an empty syringe at the same time - not a good idea, lol. They told him to disappear before they call the police....I think he asked for 1kg of Citric acid.

Anyone point out yet that H is now selling citric and bicarb? Smaller quantities seem to be available.
Good luck with your experiment Kevin - can't wait to hear how you get on!
