I attended my son's Xmas fair and also another school - one of the attendees from the pamper night I did happened to be from another school and invited me to their fair as well.  The first one was rather tat (I rather expected it, to be perfectly honest the only thing that clientelle was going to be interested in were the booze raffles) and very few if any people sold much - on top of that someone saw fit to steal five quid out of my till when my back was turned before I even started *fume*.

The second one was considerably better, with quite a few people saying "I bought soap and things for family members already and now I wish I hadn't!"  Handed out a bunch of cards, and made contacts for two more schools!  I'm a bit done in to try and do any more Crimbo stuff, but there's pamper nights and fetes and other things which I should be able to get in for.  I'll have the school fair thing locked down soon, and I'm also looking into the guildhall connections as well (we ran a ball there a few years ago and they were very impressed, there's always stuff running there).

I've been a bit late out of the gate for Xmess this year, being my first go, but I'm getting lots of ideas for next year.

For now, however I think I'll collapse.  For a week.

Bastards for robbing of you of the fiver but hope the second one made up for it!!! I got a few comments like that myself "ohhh I've bought soaps already and now I wish I'd seen yours first" .. gutting but good at the same time!

Rest and take it easy cos I doubt you're fully well at the moment anyway.

I wonder why we women work through despite being unwell, we just don't seem to be able to stop ourselves do we!! I lay on the sofa a couple of times, but with a little one with ASD it's nigh on impossible to be ill! They just don't understand, and need you to do this or get that and NOW!!!!

Well, part of it is probably something to do with the solstice, the natural order of things is to be letting go and resting, and someone plonked Crimbo in there, so we JUST CAN"T STOP!

I don't expect the person who took your £5 is going to feel very good inside, so they have that to carry round with them....what a mean thing to do......

I had planned to be up and out there for the Xmas rush, but in truth I was not ready. Bogged down with impossible labelling and packaging, I wish there was someone out there who could create all that for me, it is totally not my thing......
Can't decide on a logo, and giving up on any lofty ideas about stunning packaging, have settled for cigar wraps........dreams are free...........lol

Don't try for too many and knock yourself up SG, not worth it even though it's tempting to go for more venues.

Aye, Deb, my son has autism, there is no such thing as "rest" - this week's fair paid for groceries for the next two weeks so ill or not, I had to go.

Not doing anything else fair-ish for the rest of the year, methinks, my house is a mess and I need to recover from the Xmess break when I'll be back to full-time mum-stuff for two weeks, but I've plots and plans for the next year and I am gathering experience as I go.

I have got one of those things like an apron that you tie round your waist and then it has 3 pockets/compartments in the front, I was given it so I don't know what they are called or where you get them from but they are what market traders use but it is a god send.

You have so much to do at these fayres it is one less thing to think about when you are there, I keep my pen in there too and any of those things you keep losing. You can't trust anyone, imagine what that person's child is like, doesn't stand a chance in life.

I'll write about my fayres this weekend on a minute, I reckon these school ones are really good and better than standing in the wind and rain!

Neither am I - I really need to get my storage sorted at home (if you'd seen all the clutter you'd realise that this is a mammoth undertaking).

Oh my house looks like some kind of warehouse, cardborad boxes all over the place.

SG, I'm so sorry someone stole from you. I packed up from today's fair and went to fetch the car, it wasn't til I reached the car I realised I'd left my cashbox unattended at the venue. Luckily it was all fine, but it was a heart-in-mouth drive back i can tell you. x

The boxes...oh man, the boxes....*shiver*

I do think I'll have to do something else cashwise, I was so appalled, but at the same time (which is possibly worse) not at all surprised either.  I doubt I'll be doing any more fairs there, and it's my son's own school!  (Want to move him soooo badly, to be honest).

Anyway, here's for the new year.

Blimey.... how awful to have money stolen.  Like Deborah said, I can imagine whoever took it won't truly feel good inside.  So sorry SG.  You must be so exhausted with all the running round too  big hug

Honestly I doubt whoever stole it is overly bothered by conscience or they wouldn't have done it in the first place!  However as I said, it paid for groceries and that is one weight off my mind, so hurrah there!  And now, recovery time.
