Hello!

Having posted yesterday, I thought I should introduce myself. I was given a L___ body butter bar for my birthday, and found that it made my skin lovely and soft. Having seen the price, I have decided to re-create my own. I'm sure that it will be an adventure... I am hoping to experiment with different essential oils, and come up with something smelling like Pear's soap, which is one of my favourite smells.

I've never really made anything cosmetic before (the experiments I came up with between the ages of 9 and 14 can safely be excluded from this!), but I do like to make my own truffles. I'm hoping there are some transferable skills I'll be able to use. If nothing else, I have learned how to make the kitchen a mess and create lots of washing up!

I'm currently a secretary and a student, which is quite time consuming. Growing vegetables and being a church organist eats into my 'free' time. I also just went climbing for the first time, and really enjoyed that, too. I'm looking forwards to spending time I don't have chatting on this board and getting to know everyone, and experimenting with butters, oils and smelly things. Of course, should I ever manage to come up with recipes which work, I shall be sure to pass them on.

Did someone say truffles?Huh?   Shocked

Hello Abi, a wonderful warm welcome to the forum, it's so lovely to have you here (especially if you make truffles - the rum variety please, Mmmmmm).  I feel certain that many of those skills are transferable.  You say you're a student.  What are you studying?

You jogged my memoryor two there when you said about your experiments when you were younger.  I remembered I used to have this thing about mixing talc, water and rose petals and insisting everyone wore my wonderful, magical perfume (I seem to recall the dog had his fair share too, lol).  Oh well, I sincerely hope I've come on a little since then (I now use essential oils instead of the petals - he, he....  No I was joking!).  Wink

Anyway, thank you for introducing yourself and I hope you gain something from being here.  It is early days here so do keep your posts coming because it's lovely to hear how people are getting on and there is a huge amount to be gained from sharing experiences, good and the not so good.

A Big Warm Welcome From Me!!!
