Hello Finbar - you've definitely come to the right place to learn about soapmaking (we even have a captive safetyy assessor who makes soap - but we've let him off the lead for a week or so).

That's what I thought but didn't want to jump in with "where are you from" in the first sentence.. you've asked in a far more tactful way! Finbar is a very Irish name.

Hey thanks for the warm welcome Cheesy  I'd like to try my hand at cold processed soap made from hemp oil.  It's a nice greenish colour. I like green - well I would woudn't I, descending from the Emerald Isle!  My family belonged to County Cork but I was born in London.  Enough about me as I'm shy Embarrassed

Ahhh Cork, one of my all time favourite places on earth (well West Cork to be precise, not all bits of Cork are as scenic as that!).  And none of this shy stuff, the more you interact and post on the board, the more boards will open up for you.

!00% Hemp makes a horrible soap - soft and rapidly goes rancid.

A percentage of hemp will probably give you a soft green colour.

Unrefined Avaocado oil is also a green - so is Pumpkin Seed Oil, expensive. However you wouldn't be using 100% of any of these oils to make a viable soap.
