Hi
« on: August 04, 2009, 11:17:24 PM »

Hi
just thought I would say hello. I have made soaps and lotions for some years now (for friends and family) and am now in the process of taking it a step further and see whether people would actually buy my products. I am a bit nervous to be honest ;-)

My formulations are at the safety assessor as we speak and I am working on a website, so will show some of my stuff very soon hopefully!

I cant believe I havent come across this site before, some of the posts have allready been of help to me. I hope to be able to contribute as well!

Hello Miranda welcome.

It's a goodly forum for both soaps and lotions - you'll find lots of interesting stuff in the various topics and in Resources on the main site.

(must warn you that pics are mandatory!!)

Hi Miranda,

A warm welcome to the forum.  I am so glad you have found it useful so far.  Sounds to me that you have gained lots of practical formulating experience and how exciting, getting your SA's.  Good for you  Smiley  I am sure that when you receive them there'll be no stopping you.  I do very much look forward to hearing more about some of the things you make.

Hope you enjoy it hear  Smiley

yes, scary, and ad expensive, time consuming and stressfull ! ;-) But sort of fun too. I do feel like I am working against the clock as I am 8 months pregnant and I dont think I will have much time the first month or so after.

I am very busy working on my labels at the moment. I had anidea in my head that seemed perfect in theory but now I have executed it I am not so sure about the colours anymore - I might show them to you guys soon to see what you think.

Yep, the expense is a worry, especially these days.  I often feel guilty about spending so much but I don't drink or smoke and we don't go out often - but still, in times like these, you do wonder if it's wise to start a business especially when you know you have to invest at the beginning without knowing for sure you'll at least cover your costs.
