Just thought I would stop by and say hello. I love the site and forums, have spent far too many hours over the last couple of days reading through it all. I am about to start soap making, well at least I have ordered some moulds so far. I am going to try melt and pour to gain a bit of confidence first. Watch this space for my tales of woe  :mwaha:

HP Soap is NOT rough and soft!

Hello KS - welcome in.

There's certainly a lot to read here - and even more over on the main site, then the more you post there's even more you can get to see.

It's a bit quiet here ATM - one of the regulars is lounging under a plum tree in Portugal (if it's stopped raining) and others are busy getting stock ready for the summer season.

There are a few others starting out on MP so you'll be in good company; if you trawl through Soapy showoffs you'll find a few MP soaps - with one or two of Sue G's masterpieces.

It is great to have you here.  It is good have a look through previous discussions because I am sure you have a few questions that have probably already been answered  Wink  We are a melting pot of different levels experience and disciplines.  In a way, we are all new to something.

It's in the Legal section - when you've made more posts you'll be able to see it.

In the meantime this quote from Chrissie of Gorgeous Guineas answers most of your query

Quote
Animal shampoos don't have to be safety assessed and certified, nor do you have to list the ingredients on the label Shocked  If you look at most of the pet shop products you are lucky to find the "active ingredient" listed!  I have been very careful to sell all my Gorgeous Guineas products specifically for guineas with no mention of them being used for humans.  There are also several dog groomers who regularly use my guinea products with great success!

There are certain essentil oils which are no go - I'll see whether they're listed anywhere.

Wow , I hope i can remember all your names , thanks for the welcome from you all. Love the piccy's Danielle, hi to Lynne, Corrie you might get fed up of all my questions !  Michelle, my name is Kath  by the way.  Elaine thanks for posting that info, I must say it has shocked me somewhat, crikey poor animals don't need the safegaurds. I have been searching for an answer to the dog shampoo as I fancied making some gentle soothing sort for my pup, he has such itchy skin bless him , I swear its the  shampoo i bought for him. I know you arent  supposed to wash dogs too much , but mine is a mucky pup and likes to roll in yucky stuff.  I know you can't use essential oils etc on cats as it can be toxic, I just wanted to  be sure I knew what I could use for dogs that's all. Thanks so much for your help and i guess i ought to scoot onto the other boards now   and not clog up the welcome board.  Grin
