Hello, ears burning...

If the babies (plants that is) have any root simply pull/cut them off and pot up, size dependant you may aswell shove several to a pot until they get big enough to need thier own. Fortunately succulents are hard to kill! Keep on the dry side while they get well rooted.

http://www.aloe-vera-and-handy-herbs.com/propagation.html- here a quick line I found along the same lines

cheers lou

I re-potted my extras and gave them away a couple of years ago. I ended up with about 50 plants to give away.  Now I just move the plant to a bigger pot every couple of years. Well, when I say plant, what I mean is three plants - I didn't quite manage to give them all away!

I love the fact that they are so hard to kill, though. I make sure I water the one in my office at least twice a year (seriously - somebody else must be slipping it some water, as it looks really good and is growing at quite a rate!), and the ones at home get watered at least four times a year. I tell people to water them about once every two weeks (unless the weather is really hot), and to give them loads of water at that time, but to let them dry out in between so they don't rot away. Having said that, the boyfriend had one he'd watered regularly which had rotted away (well, the roots had, anyway). A year or so of proper, conscientious neglect and it is once again looking strong and healthy.  :mwaha:

Good grief Michelle, I wouldn't know where to begin in sending a baby, I mean, the poor thing would probably die if I spend more than 20 sceonds in direct contact with the poor thing.  I am telling you, I give off summat that makes houseplants just blahhh........  You are welcome to come and extract a baby from its mummy yourself but pleeeeeeeze dont ask me to do it, I just couldn't live with the consequences  Egad!!

Pull them off from the parent wrap in a leyer of just damp tissue, generally its recommended that you leave the pups to dry for a while but it doesnt matter.

These are agaves,  http://www.exoticunusual.co.uk/acatalog/Agaves___Succulents.html think tequila...

Reckon I could do that.
Do I just leave it for a couple of days and bung it in an envelope?
How do you post these things?

You dont really need to bother drying them out just pull off the parent with any root you can attached, wrap in a just damp sheet of tissue etc into a little plastic bag in a small box etc.

Thank you all for your help and sorry I didn't reply sooner, no excuses just being a busy nana! I managed to persuade my daughter in law in taking baby to doctors for testing for allergies and now awaiting outcome and in the meantime have tried silvergilt's remedy which I must say has helped. She still has the patches on her skin but not so angry looking and she seems not to be so itchy all the time so thanks Silvergilt. And thank you all once again for all your advice. It's good to know there is some nice people out there ready to help....
