Sorry for the thread hijack.

Just asked Simon how many kittens he found and he said 3, mom cat looked very fat so I would have expected her to have had more than 3. Anyway, she had her litter in the straw bales this time instead of in the out house in the hay bales. The hay bales aren't used so are never moved but the silly cat had to go and have her litter in the straw where the bales are moved every day, Simon thinks that when he's moved the bales one has fallen on the kittens and squashed them, there is a possibility that if she had more than 3 she may have moved the others but we'll have to wait and see. That's the trouble with ferals they do their own thing. Doh!

And sometimes they move some straight away until they decide which is the safest place.

Well if there are any more EJ I certainly hope she's moved them to a much safer place. I wanted to bring her in the house but she was having none of it. Will come in if there's food down though.

She might well have done Joy - ferals frequently move their kittens around, partly because of the habits of feral toms; domesticated cats might do but they don't have the the same threats from predators.

Hi Ruth,
Glad to see you around! We've been chatting about cats and months from hell recently. Both share some experiences but can still laugh (??)!
