Hi Everyone

I am an ex makeup artist with a LOT of hobbies. I breed high white Persian cats awwww. When I find time I handspin exotic fibres ----cashmere, silk, angora and kid mohair. I have been handspinning for about 15 years.
My latest passion ( well , for the last 2 years) is CP soapmaking and dabbling in lotions, potions and perfume. And NO I don't sleep LOL !!!!

Hello again,

Any chance of some fluffy cat pics? (there's instructions here either from a website or, if you scroll down to the bottom, directly from your hard drive.

I bought some alpacca when I was on holiday - can't decide whether to felt or spin it, have you spun  any alpacca?

Welcome Ruth

Hope you have fun here & join in the madness.  Grin

Pics please of kitties - I've got a tortoiseshell Persian (she's 16 now but still thinks she's a kitten).  She was the runt of the litter so she's half the size she should be.  So cute.

Hi Everyone

Will post some piccis soon. I have 2 baby girls, 10 days old so they should be opening their eyes soon. Will take some pics then and post some others too.
Nooo, not scarey. I was just lazy :-)

Elaine. I have spun lots of aplaca both in top form and from the fleece.
Tips.
Don't wash it before you spin it. It will felt like mad.
If in the fleece --shake it outside like crazy ---Alpacas have no grease but love to roll in the dust.
Put a bin liner under your wheel to catch the residue.
Spin loosely or else it will end up like wire no matter how soft it seems.
This is a bit off topic but I hope it helps. If you have any other questions just ask. I really don't mind.

Okay---I have to fess up :mwaha:

I do have other hobbies !
I knit my handspun, of course but I also weave. I also do Japanese embroidery which is embroidering silk upon silk. Don't have much time for the weaving and embroidery now but hope to get back to them.
