HP Soap is NOT rough and soft!

« on: November 11, 2019, 05:44:17 PM »

I've just found a card with this recipe written on - it's attributed (Huw Berry)

8ozs beeswax
1oz white wax
1oz Castile soap

Cut or grate the ingredients.
Boil for 20mins in 1 quart soft water
When almost cold mix with 1 quart of Turpentine
Stir or shake well till it becomes creamy

Handwriting is neither mine nor Tony's so I've no idea where it came from.
N.B. US quarts and UK quarts are different in volume.

I remember my mum and dad using a similar recipe to polish the oak hall floor, years ago.  I remember the colour deepened and was so rich.  It is still good today.  Thanks EJ  butterflies
