THURSDAY 6 JUNE 2013

SOUTHERN EDUCATIONAL EVENT

Cosmetics, Safety and the Global Market - Today, Tomorrow & Beyond

Venue: London College of Fashion, John Prince's Street, London W1G OBJ

Time: 19.00 hours with a light buffet from 18.30 hours

Synopsis

The Southern Educational Event 2013 will visit some of the common misconceptions in the market place and examine some of the common false claims that are reported and re-circulated. It will ask why there are so many claims in circulation and look to understand the apparent basis of such claims. The speaker will move through the legislative requirements highlighting which parts of the new Regulation are, indeed, new, whilst exploring the current and future end points, which cosmetics may/will target. There will be an overview of consumer perception of such claims, which will consider the possibility of a future without cosmetics and some of the challenges that would need to be addressed.

Talk 1 – What Will The Daily Mail Publish Next? (Dene Godfrey)
Talk 2 – Cosmetic Product Safety – Old Friend or New Foe? (Stephen Kirk – Alliance Boots)
Talk 3 – Are There Limits To What Cosmetics Can Do Today, Tomorrow & Beyond (Stephen Barton – Skin Thinking Ltd)

Too bad you can't make it; it sounds like it will be very informative.
