Does anyone hsve s fsvourite buttons site (not for sticking on cards and stuff)?

I'm knitting a jacket - warm grey and rust red fleck and am looking for 10 interesting buttons - perhaps "antique" copper.

Try Duttons for Buttons in York - I used to love browsing in there during my university lunchtimes

Why don't I remember that shop I wonder - mind you I didn't go down Coppergate very often.

Not the best of websites though I'm afraid.

http://www.loopknittingshop.com/  has some good looking posh ones that are different to ordinary, and of course www.ravelry.com has links to country wide haberdashery and wool shops that will have hab. Also seamstar.co.uk has funky modern/retro type. The best for unusual/cheap ones is etsy.com

EJ, here's one in Pontypool, handcrafted wood buttons that might suit your work - just saw it on Etsy, shop called CottageCoppicing, owner Lisa Standley. http://www.etsy.com/shop/CottageCoppicing?ref=seller_info

Don't worry, I'll stop now!

Have a look at her website http://www.lushlampwork.com/14-shank-buttons

I can't recommend anyone but one of the girls in my ceramics class was making her own ceramic buttons for something she was making, I thought it was a great idea!
