I am just wondering, if anyone with any experience wouldn't mind sharing with me, what's the maximum amount of FO and EO in a melt?  :buttrf:

Good point Eva. I should have looked at which board this had been posted!

I make candles at 6% EO. I think I was told 6-8% but don't know about melts.

I only use 4% EO, and I've been told that at this amount, just one melt produces a nice, gentle aroma in the room. Using 2 melts would intensify the strength of scent thrown.
I don;t plan on using anymore than the 4% tbh, if it ain;t broke and all of that Wink :buttrf:

Depends on which fragrance as well. I use about 4-6% in candles usually but for some oils - like citronella I cut that in half or it would be far too pungent.

No, not complicated at all. Melt wax, wait for it to cool slightly, add fragrance, stir, and pour into moulds. :buttrf:

Agreed. I find this with rosemary in a blend, a little goes a long way.

Thanks ever so much.  It is for wax melts and only for myself (well, Amie), but I wasn't too sure if there was a maximum as I have only used an oil burner with either a pre-made melt or pouring (by eye/nose) FO/EO into water.

If you use two melts in a burner it doesnt necessarily increase the fragrance throw as the percentage remains the same.

If you use EOs to fragrance percentage must be lower due to flammable nature of essential oils max 4% but varies dependant of EO. The more piney ones orrosemary Id only do 2%

What I found useful was to make tiny lil melts like the chocolate moulds. Ikea silicon moulds are good for this too.. Start off with about thre lil melts. After about 4 meltings/ cool downs th Fragrance may have evaporate slightly so just ad another lil melt to boost it up. You can also make a cocktail of different fragrances this way too so have your own individual smells.

The lil moulds are great for pouring of the last lil dregs in your pan/jug when you have been doing bigger melts so nothing gets wasted.
