Hi, My name is Michelle and I'm currently doing my bachelors in tourism and hospitality in Australia. I've been dabbling in cold process soap and other bath and body products such as creams, bubble bath, bath soaks, scrubs and so on.

I usually lose interest very quickly but I've stuck to this hobby for more than a year now and I still have a passion for it!  Cheesy

I've been documenting all my bath and body formulating in my blog here http://www.oatsandhoney.blogspot.com and you're all more than welcome to pop by for a visit  big hug

Hoping to get to know each and everyone of you lovely ladies and guys here at this forum  Happy Bounce

Happy Soaping!

A warm welcome to the forum.  I had a look at your blog and wow!!  You make some some lurvly soaps.  I suppose its a good way of relieving the stress of study.  I look forward to chatting some more with you around the boards and learning more about your soaping adventures.

Welcome again and its good to have you here  Smiley

Hello Michelle and Welcome!

Fab soaps!

I found this site not long ago and it really is great!  I've always been the same in that so many things have always interested me but nothing has held my attention more than making my own skincare stuff.  Have spent a lot of time reasearching ingredients etc but am about ready for lots more experimenting.

I've not tried making soaps yet, but will at some point try it all out as everyone seems to be having so much fun making them and a lot of the creations I'm seeing look divine!!

Do you use Manuka Honey?  I learned about the powers of the stuff a few years back and it's amazing!  I read that hospitals in NZ have gauzes and bandages impregnated with the stuff to prevent infection and MRSA.  It's great to take internally as it flushes out the system and is so healing applied topically.  I whack some on my face when it becomes unbalanced.  It's great stuff.

Enjoy and see you around the the site!

Wow, thank you so much for the welcoming messages! You ladies are absolute sweethearts  Group hug I'm glad I joined the forum!! ElaineJ, I use honey in my soaps but I've never tried Manuka honey. It's expensive too so I might try using it in a cream  Cheesy

How does it taste like? I've also heard about how good it is to take it internally!

Hey Michelle,  yes Manuka honey is expensive.  I use the oil for zits and cold sores, even better than tea tree, although has a strong smell that takes some getting used to!

Tastes like no other honey I've ever tasted!  Divine.  Good for tummy upsets and for internal cleansing.  It should be taken fist thing in the morning on an empty stomach and nothing else eaten for at least an hour after to let it do it's magic inside.  I don't know anything about soap but if I did, I'd love to make a soap loaded with the stuff to use on my face.  Not sure how much it'd end up costing but it'd be great, I reckon! If anyone wants to make me some, that'd be great!  :-) Any takers?

HI Michelle amd welcome. I am originally from Australia but I've been in the UK over 10yrs, have two pommy kids and a British accent so I am not sure I can really call myself an aussie that convincingly (although I'm not a pom either!!)  :mwaha:

Hope you enjoy it here, everyone is very friendly!
