Both myself, and I have noticed a few others are interested in embarking on making makeup form minerals, I know it's easy to do, but it would be interesting to hear about peoples creations.

I intend to make my own rouge, eyeshadow, concealer, and foundation too.  It is easy, but I thought it'd be interesting to see what others produce too, as there are a few of us just embarking on mineral makeup, I thought it would be fun.  The lippy I made was ok, but a little sticky so getting the right formula with the oils and waxes could prove a little tricky, I intend to experiment anyway just for the fun of it, and to have my own personal colours to suit me, would be fab.

See, now this bit is why 'it's easy' can be famous last words.  :mwaha:

Made lip gloss (which need a little tweak) and eyeliner which the guinea pig said she liked. Both are pretty simple although the lip gloss is a bit firm for use in the winter. Castor gives it a stickiness as well as shine. Did you have castor in your lipstick?

I've thought about making my own eyeshadow Smiley But as for the rest of it, I'm leaving it to the experts, am quite happy with my makeup!

I agree it would be interesting to maybe have a board for mineral makeup, or makeup in general.  I disagree it must be easy though Shell!  Sure, the method may not always be that complicated, but I imagine getting the colours right must take some work.  Not such an issue for something like eyeshadow maybe, but foundation, where the colour's got to look exactly right for each different skin tone - I can imagine that being quite difficult to get right.

Lol yeah I buy my mineral foundation from a small company who handmake it - it is fantastic so I feel like there's no point me trying to make it really!  Eyeshadow would be fun to make though.

Suzann it did, have a lot of CO in, I sort of new it would be sticky but gave it a try, then I made some and subbed some CO for Jojoba oil, my favorite and it its 100% less sticky, yet still shiny .
I will post the recipe to any one who wants it, I'm not going to be making for my stall ever, only for me, its too expensive to sell and have a decent mark up on.  I do love mineral makeup though, mac usually, v expensive but there's a little shop in Holmfirth that sells it half price, so very happy Smiley
