Hello

I've just found your site and board... not many active boards around but this one although new looks like it might take off! So the best of luck.

I'm a mum of two, work full time but love 'making' stuff.

I'm just in the process of starting a candle business 'The Lincolnshire Candle Bakery' - I make Eco Candles from gm free, pesticide/herbicide free Soy Wax... but am dabbling with body products too - just a little concerned about having to get everything certified.

I'm currently making lip balms, and i'm more and more asked to make vegan versions... Also make bath salts and whipped body butters and foaming butters

Hi, Emmag. I'm new here, too, but wanted to say welcome. This is a very friendly and informative site. Everyone is very supportive and welcoming.

It's great your candles are eco friendly. Good for you. I wish you the best of luck with your business.

See you around the boards...

Hello Emmag,

A very warm welcome to the forum!!!  Grin

Yes we are new here but it is going so very well and the site is updated daily (more or less).

Ooh candles!!  How wonderful. I think there's another member who also makes candles, I'd love to have a go at that.  I've made a few little tea lights with the olive wax but that's about it, lol  Well I hope you find the forum useful and please feel free to make any suggestions.  The site is member-led so you just let us know.

What sort of waxes do you use?  I love the name by the way.  Do you have a website??  I'm trying to put together a sort of gallery of member's finished projects and creations but having a few technical problems but I will get there.  Would love to see some of your work.  Do check out the trade & swap board as you might see something to take your fancy!!

Well a big warm welcome from me!!  Grin

We look forward to chatting with you

Hi Helen and Theresa

Thank you for the warm welcome.

I'm in the process of creating www.lincolnshirecandlebakery.co.uk but its not live yet - give me a week or two ;-)

I use Pure Ecosoy wax with essential oils or fragrance oils... am doing batches of wax melts today for the top of oil burners... the good thing about soy is that it melts at low temperatures so the kids can have a go without any danger of them being scalded, throws scent really well - 1 wax melt chunk will last a couple of weeks, then you simply pour it away and add another chunk.

I look forward to joining in the fun here.
