Hello and welcome Smiley There are a lot of people with a lot of good talents around here, other than soaping, and it's nice to add another one to the list!

Hi Dave, welcome aboard.

As you can see we are very interested in your stamps and all the possibilities. And you wil get the chance to see your craft on our craft in soapy show offs. That should be quite a nice feeling.

Hi Dave, a BIG welcome......................I'm off to have another look at your site, I'd love a stamp in due course.   At the moment I'm very much a beginner and am still faffing about trying to get recipes, colours and fragrances right..................

Thanks Terris,

No problems - I only started with the Laser October last year so I know the feeling ;-)

I get you - "shading" would have to be hatching.

To have an outline to impress into a soap the laser would cut out the background outside the "line" and the inside.

You got it - where the picture is black the laser fires where it's white it doesn't - all digitally that is, the picture is loaded into the laser - bit like the old dot matrix printers in a way.

A lining paper or film is generally used - there are acrylic log moulds and I understand these need a release agent of some sort. I have a slab mould in ?acrylic? with dividers and I put clingfilm on the base; I have no problem lifting out the dividers.

Soap comes away from silicone with no problem.
Excellent, thanks - I will have a think about this, could be various ways I may be able to make a mould with a logo. :-)

Do you do an L to R flip or would you require a mirror image?
Yep I normally take the standard logo, convert it to B&W and then flip it normally using Iranview.  Some picture also need a bit of tinkering - thickening lines for example.

Best
