HP Soap is NOT rough and soft!

I did have w heel, it needed atention and Child has removed it while I was in hospitl.

Even before stroke I had been wondering about a double treadle wheeel.

Does anyone have experience of an Ashford Traveller?

Never an expert completely self-taught - dunno how I'll get on with this left hand behaving as it does - but won't know unless I try.

I have loads of natural and dyed tops nd can always use duff yarn in felting.

EJ, a good friend of mine spins her own yarn. whether she has an ashford traveller or not I couldn't say. coincidentally she lives in ashford!  I'll try and remember to ask her advice!

No help but is it cheaper to spin your own yarn then? as I've taken up knitting and crocheting again and yarn is costing me the earth. I'm sure one of my many times removed relatives had a double treadle wheel and she seemed to love it.

I have an Ashford Traveller, Elaine - it is a double treadle, double drive wheel (in that you can use it double drive or convert it to Scotch Tension)  and I love it to bits - saved my sanity after we had the fire at the factory!!

Samantha, ebay is your friend.... There are yarn companies from Turkey that have gorgeous wool and are very reasonable. Some German sellers on there as well (much cheaper and less Polyester over there) and quite often I order from China (twinboysan is my favourite seller).

Sorry EJ - no idea about spinning. Not enough sheep in London for me to try...

I hope you are recovering well, your typing is getting much better  :buttrf:
