Hi Madpiano yes, I am on the dish, but seldom post there nowadays. Africa has always had much closer ties with the UK and Europe than the USA and we inherited a fair amount of English culture. Most South Africans love English humour (Monty Python etc. has a cult following) and I feel very much at home here at fresholi.

Thank you very much for the welcome.

Sunshine your shop is wonderful!  I would love to have one that looked like that.  It is so inviting with lots to catch the eye of a passer-by to get the Impulse purchases...  very well thought out. :buttrf:

Hi, Sunshine and welcome! I just had a look at your pix - I really love your shop, it all looks so beautiful!  :buttrf:
Whereabouts in South Africa are you? I have cousins in the Cape, Pretoria and Durban and my mum lives near Skeerpoort.

No, but somehow most of my relatives seem to have ended up there! My brother has just returned, with wife and 9 y/o daughter, after 20 years in both South Africa and Tanzania (he's a balloon pilot - flew for Bill Harrop until last September and is currently on a short-term contract in TZ again).

My aunt and uncle lived in Pretoria and then Durban until my uncle retired (Board of Water Affairs) and they returned to the UK - my cousin and his sister are still there though. Their sister is here though and she sometimes posts on the Fresholi forum!

My mum decided to emigrate seven years ago and although she originally went because my brother and sister-in-law had just presented her with her only grandchild, she so fell in love with the country that there is no way she wants to return to UK!

Then there are my cousins-by-marriage (husband's cousins and their families) who are in the Cape.

We keep promising ourselves a visit!
