I bought this gorgeous mould and planned to use it for melts. Got it yesterday and tested right away.
Problem is I can't get them out of the mould in one piece. Sob...
Is there a trick to this or will I not be able to use this mould for melts?

Thats a pretty mould, can you try sticking it on the freezer for a few mins before you want to unmould, that might work

i find five mins in the fridge before i want to turn them out is enough, however i have not yet tried a mould as intricate as the one in the pic

Tried it and it went better but not all the way. It's as if the mould is being pinched so one have to pull it very hard to get it loose and that's when the wax brakes.
Maybe the wax is too brittle for this mould or that the mould itself is constructed wrong.

Maybe a short heat burst on the back of the mould?  Just to loosen.  Maybe with a hairdryer or dip in shallow hot water.  As long as it isn't at the sacrifice of the detail that is.  A lovely mould BTW  :buttrf:

What is it made of Eva ?  It looks like silicon on my page, but maybe that my screen. I know I have a problem mould made of hard plastic and it just a case of being patient and running my fingers over and over until you see the vacuum break.

I can turn the whole thing inside out but it's as if it's gets pinched in some places, and I have to pull really hard.

What a shame, it looks like a lovely mould, Maybe you need something to soften the soy a little, that might work if its not quite as brittle ?

hmm... that might work. A bit of paraffin maybe?

hmm - I would think popping into the freezer and then into a hot water bath for a couple of seconds. Looks like there is an undercut somewhere and it's just not releasing the melts.

Can you imagine using that one for biscuits? That would be even worse!

Do you use Pillar or container soy? I would may up the % of container soy slightly.

I had trouble de moulding for the first time in the week. Normally the melts just slip out, or i put them in the fridge for ten minutes and then they fall out.  Well a set of lemon and lavender would not come out ofr toffee. They wouldn't slide out, i put them in the fridge and kept checking them every 20mins and that wasn't working. When i took them out of the fridge, i tried giving them a tap on the bottom of the base but had no joy. So i put them in the freezer. After checking for 10mins they still weren't shifting, however after they had been left in their longer they eventually decided it was the time to come out.

I am not sure what caused this as I have never had so much touble at de moulding. Everything was the same as usual except it was a new FO. Could it have been the FO that caused it?
