Title: cracked feet solution treatment anyone do anything? Post by: Atlanticpearl on August 20, 2012, 03:17:51 PM Friend of mine in Madeira has just messaged me to see if I can help/advise get a product for her to try. She has very sensitive skin, on the bottom and side of one foot the skin has cracked, parts of it have peeled (she has tried frankincense and rose cream to no aviall), she has also tried a fruit scrub to try and remove the aggravated skin. Does anyone make anything that might help her? If so please message me (it can be posted to me as I am going to Madeira in September and can take with me) thank you

Post by: Mrs Green Hearts on August 20, 2012, 04:05:23 PM I dont make anything for feet (yet!) but do treat peoples feet and always recommend Flexitol Heel Balm ~ its pretty thick and you only need a little bit on the dry/cracked parts. Its works well x

Title: Re: cracked feet solution treatment anyone do anything? Post by: Suzanne on August 20, 2012, 05:58:30 PM I made a balm with Frank EO and made with shea and rice bran wax (can't remember what else without digging out the reicipe). My heels were terribly cracked and I had horizonal cracks on the soles of both feet. Although the heels are still a little dry because I tend to neglect them, it healed the cracks.
I think she does need to see the doctor though. Title: Re: cracked feet solution treatment anyone do anything? Post by: Atlanticpearl on August 20, 2012, 06:08:18 PM thanks for replies, maybe I can try and make something up for her (to see the dr over there is very expensive, if something is an emergency you can go to the hospital, if not you have to pay to see the dr (when I last saw a dr over there it cost me Euro 60). I will try and make a balm to take with me for her to try) :buttrf:

A nice balm of good butters and oils will help... include Kokum, it's really good for dried and cracked skin as is Meadowfoam oil. Title: Re: cracked feet solution treatment anyone do anything? Now I just file them down and apply Shea butter, works great for me. Title: Re: cracked feet solution treatment anyone do anything? Post by: Eire on August 20, 2012, 09:28:02 PM Medical causes need to be ruled out first. After that, ensure feet are rinsed thoroughly before getting out of the shower. Many people rinse their body well but step out with surfs still on the soles of the feet. Also ensure skin is thoroughly dry. Correct footwear is another consideration. Besides medical causes, this generally tends to be similar to a contact dermatitis, and is very common. Some peoples feet can look like they have athletes foot, but it's not the same. It's what some of us refer to as runners feet.
