Title: Soap Column Post by: Amanda82 on November 29, 2011, 07:28:16 PM Does anyone know where I'd get a column for making column swirls in soap?

Wooooooooooooooooooooow slow down there , make soap first and get used to your formula , column swirling is a little more advanced.. Take your time treacle. Title: Re: Soap Column Post by: Amanda82 on November 29, 2011, 09:07:41 PM oh but it looks so easy!

Title: Re: Soap Column Post by: Honey on November 29, 2011, 09:26:37 PM :mwaha: I love your enthusiasm!!
I actually feel like saying go for it BUT make sure you have a formula that will allow you to do this... you need to have a good pouring consistency for quite a while so you need to be sure your formula will allow you to do this. But if you feel you can do it, why not go ahead? Seriously, you learn SO much from just getting in and doing it. Yes you could end up with a lump of soap that isn't so pretty but you could also end up with a fab soap too... who knows?! I'm all for experimenting and learning from your mistakes. Title: Re: Soap Column Post by: Amanda82 on November 29, 2011, 09:38:08 PM That's what I was thinking too. It's all about trial and error for me right now, right?
:D Title: Re: Soap Column Post by: Denice on November 29, 2011, 09:49:26 PM Quote It's all about trial and error for me right now, right Yep - just try to take lots of notes as you go along so that you can see what's working and what's not. Use your soaps when they're ready, take notes then too - compare moisture, hardness, lather etc, also how well the scent stays and if it remains nice in the soap dish between uses. It can help to keep a picture record too (I'm not quite organised enough for that one) - that way you can see how the colour changes etc. Have fun :buttrf: Title: Re: Soap Column Post by: Honey on November 29, 2011, 09:50:48 PM Picture record is easily done via a blog... you could keep lots of notes on that (except formula, if you're planning to sell at some point).

@Honey i never thought to keep a blog. I can put all my notes in one and I don't have to publish it. Title: Re: Soap Column Post by: Honey on November 30, 2011, 04:42:51 PM Or do publish it .. wonder if you can keep parts private and parts public?
Title: Re: Soap Column Post by: Amanda82 on November 30, 2011, 04:44:31 PM Hmmm...i don't know... I think you can publish only the posts you want to publish.
