Title: NTB, a day like yours... Post by: Eire on June 05, 2010, 11:44:51 AM Had a day like you had with a market. Went there this morning and nobody there, place locked up. Can you believe not even an email. I had told the lady organising this that bank holiday w/e markets don't work, but she insisted last month that it would go ahead, this is a new market, this would have been it's 3 time. I didn't want to do this one, but it's local so felt I should try support it. I know this area pretty well and know people don't really spend. I have given loads of talks there on skin care, nutrition, hormonal imbalances/effect on the skin etc..., I REALLY know the locality and they want something for nothing or a cheap evening/day out. I have suppoted the womens group there at a cost of time and money to myself, so I am mad that the courtesy of an email wasn't even extended to me. >:(

Title: Re: NTB, a day like yours... Post by: Eire on June 05, 2010, 01:04:56 PM Clouds, silver lining and all that. I know they will be back, but getting out of local stuff is bad publicity. So, I went around the little town/village. There was a newish shop there, drive by it every day on school runs, but never have time to go in, kinda brasserie style. So took a little nosey around and now most likely will have a new wholesale a/c. Nothing definite yet, but I've a good feeling. We've a few little packaging things to finalise. Theme will cream and green. no funky swirly stuff, goats milk, butter milk, herbal etc...
Even better, there is a big farmers market in a town close to me, long established, but you have to sell food to get in. Those with food can have a small crafts section on their display. As I don't sell food, I cannot get into that market, but she has asked me to be her supplier for there too. Even better, I now have created a conflict of interest so can't display at the stupid market that didn't happen this morning. Eire Title: Re: NTB, a day like yours... Post by: bambi on June 05, 2010, 01:15:34 PM (not sur to understand all) Do you mean you ended your trip better than it began ? if yes it is a good thing finally ;)
Sometimes life changes its way, and that is not a bad thing. Title: Re: NTB, a day like yours... Post by: Honey on June 05, 2010, 02:26:57 PM Was that the one I put you onto Eire?
Did you get my email today too? Glad there was a silver lining though!! Title: Re: NTB, a day like yours... Post by: EJ on June 05, 2010, 02:43:58 PM Iff you hadn't have had a duff market you wouldn't have had the wholesale opportunity so Fate stepped in.
Title: Re: NTB, a day like yours... Post by: polly on June 05, 2010, 02:49:19 PM that's pants about your fair this morning but obviosly it was meant to be like that - sounds like your new account could be very good, especially as it gets you out of the crappy fairs from now on.
Title: Re: NTB, a day like yours... Post by: nakedtruthbeauty on June 05, 2010, 05:51:33 PM Ack, Eire! It's so annoying isn't it. Just wish everyone ran their business on a professional basis. Still, sounds like it worked out ok. :buttrf:
