Title: Short introduction Post by: Soheila on December 17, 2007, 09:43:16 PM Hello!
I was happy to find a supplier new to me and this forum seems to be an added bonus. I'm a mother, teacher, soap-and-things -maker, small business owner, writer and a restless soul :) Also all kind of picture making is near to my heart, as are crafts and things and cats. Need some sleep now but I suppose I can't keep my fingers off this nice forum too long :) Title: Re: Short introduction Post by: JGorse on December 17, 2007, 09:50:43 PM Hi :hi:

Title: Re: Short introduction Post by: Soheila on December 18, 2007, 02:51:20 PM Wheee... :D
Thank you for your interest! I'm really not that exciting person so I get flattered when someone is that interested ;) I have got only one child, he is a 5-year-old lovely boy. I teach all subjects for my class, which is filled with 7-year-olds. Here in Finland the kids start their school at this age, so these are 1:st grade pupils. So that's Finnish, Maths, Environment, Arts, Music, Religion, Physical Education and Crafts. I make cold process soap, hair conditioner, lip balm and ointment, serum, and newest thing which I'm still learning is cream. I'd like to do makeup, too, this far I have tried making mineral makeup but I'm not too happy with my concoction. My small business is really small but I'd like to teach less and business more in the future. I have a webshop (I'm building a new one right now so I can't show you the link yet), I make websites and next year projects is to editor and publish an anthology with my fellow writers. I have also promised to have soap courses far away from my home (which I regret right now, it's a bit too much at this point of my life, but I've allready signed a contract for that). I have had published one soap book, but as a hobby I write mainly short stories. I have written one novel, too, but it's so extremely crappy I'm not going to send it to any publisher :D I do paint with oil, acryl, water colors and pixels. I'm not painting as much as I'd like to, but I keep it as a hobby drawn by inspiration (and available time...) I also like to photograph. I have two cats :) So, if there anything I don't do... of course, a lot of things. Like clean my house often enough.... or excersice enough... or dance ballet. ::) I luv the Moderator cat :D Title: Re: Short introduction Post by: mai on December 18, 2007, 08:18:23 PM i pinch them from here http://icanhascheezburger.com/ i love this site it had me in stitches last night when i couldn't sleep
Title: Re: Short introduction Post by: Helen on December 18, 2007, 09:28:42 PM Hi Saara,
Quote I do paint with oil, acryl, water colors and pixels. I'm not painting as much as I'd like to, but I keep it as a hobby drawn by inspiration (and available time...) Oh.... that was a love of mine before having children, that and working with clay (ah... I dream). You do sound a very busy lady indeed - I am in total admiration of you working with 7 year olds. My daughter is 7 and having a whole class I would imagine is most tiring. Your books sound very interesting. How very creative you are - you must be bursting with creative energy. We were saying on another thread somewhere how being creative can sometimes cause us to fly off in different directions (doing this, doing that) :D I must say, your written English is exceptional (much better than my Finnish :D). My friend is from Finland, near Helsinki - her English is brilliant too. My daughter was reading from a book of hers written in Finnish and my friend was astounded at how well she did and how well she pronounced the words, even though my daughter had no idea what she was saying. She just howled with laughter when I had a go though :haha: Those kitties are really cute Mai, gave me a chuckle or three... :D Title: Re: Short introduction Post by: corrie on December 18, 2007, 10:12:56 PM Wow Saara, I think I have a pretty full life but not compared to you!
Welcome here and have fun :) Title: Re: Short introduction Post by: Soheila on December 19, 2007, 03:48:25 PM I'm not that sure of bursting creative energy ;) It's more like restless mind and interests to too many directions, lack of focus. The problem is that since I'm not focusing to anything I have never developed to become very good in anything. I mean I can do lot of things but everything in mediocre way. Humm, I suppose I need to read that other thread with this issue, too.
7-year olds are very nice ;) I have got quite a lot of kids in my class with some kind of behavior problems (but not any bad ones at all). Anyway, they are such charming little personalities I mostly enjoy my work. Unfortunately I have had some problems with communicating with my boss and his friends and that has made my working conditions a bit uncomfortable and I'm really seriously considering changing my job. I don't know, I like my class very much and have had good time and good learning results with them allready. Hard decisions to make next spring. Title: Re: Short introduction Post by: Helen on December 19, 2007, 03:56:28 PM 7 year olds are indeed very interesting characters... big personalities in little bodies. I have the most interesting conversations with my A. They are old enough to express themselves quite fully but are still young enough to say the funniest but most innocent things. A nice age but wouldn't fancy a class full all day, every day :mwaha:
Its an awful situation for you. When you love your job, are good at it but those 'above' just go a ruin all that's good. I'm sure you'll make a decision about what's right for you. :) |
