Title: Hello
Post by: Suzanne on December 15, 2007, 05:46:21 PM
I only found this site a couple of days ago.  I am very new to making soap, and once I have mastered the art, I would like to sell it.  However reading the forum, I am not sure that I could do it on my own and with my sanity intact.  However, I will not be beaten, and I may well come back frequently and ask lots of really silly questions so please bare with me!

Hi Suzanne,

Welcome to the forum.  No question is silly, believe me & there a plenty of people here who are only too willing to diverge some of their soapmaking secrets.  No doubt, any question you ask there'll be a whole bunch of us eager to know what the answer might be (err..... that'll be me  :mwaha:)

There are such a lot of knowledgable members here and all have their own areas of specialism but we pull those experiences together really well to find some really interesting possibilities and / or solutions.

So never worry about asking a 'silly' question and no doubt, you'll have your own pearls of wisdom to share at some point on some topic or another  ;)

Thanks again for joining us and I look forward to chatting with you around the boards!   :hi:

Welcome! We're a friendly bunch here, a bit mad maybe (or that might just be me). We're more than willing to help where we can - don't be afraid to ask anything, even if you think it's silly.
Sarah.

Title: Buying Equipment
Post by: Susan on December 16, 2007, 12:39:43 PM
Thank you for the warm welcome, the feedback re Citrofresh and thanks Helen for the advice regarding becoming an author (I think I understand the process - that my application and 'piece offerings' are first sent via email  for approval).

I would like to get started in making some products, :pot: and although I can purchase some starter kits from Aromantics (there are still some chemicals in the packs which I want to avoid) I notice you have an 'Equipment' section but no products.  If Fresholi do not sell them can you give me advice as to the best source for obtaining starter kits.

And anything you think I should avoid/steer clear of.  Thanks

Hi Susan,

lol....  Peace offerings  :mwaha:  At one time, Author status was sort of automatic but because some members have submitted contributions that may be a little sensitive to their formulations etc...  We (Fresholi members collaboratively) decided that doing it this way would help build a more solid community and helped to protect more sensitive contributions  ;)

Regarding the equipment.  At the moment, this section consists just of measuring beakers and syringes.  It has not been published yet (hopefully today).  What sort of things are you looking for in terms of kits Susan?  Regarding what to avoid will really depend on your school of thought.  I have my own likes and dislikes but they may not be the same as yours (depends on your bug bear) and because I administer Fresholi, I try very hard to take an unbias approach  :)
