The various weather sites seem to agree that we're going to have a fine day - but I've packed my tarp for the back of the stall, poly side sheets and cover with numrous clips.

It'll be the first time for the marketstall step display which I bought (far cheaper than buying square section steel tubing and plywood and getting Jones to make a set.

I checked all my costings and I don't need to raise my prices from last year ATM (wonder if anyone will notice) as I've been able to buy in larger amounts.

So fingers crossed for a better season than last year - but there's high unemployment in the area unfortunately.

Finances are tough all round but I hope you do really well tomorrow, best of luck!

A bit late but hope you had a good day Elaine. The sun is shining here in Derbyshire at the moment so I hope you have the same where you are.

Well we had sunny periods but no rain - not as many stalls as usual (in previous years the mart has started end of April) and footfall wasn't great either.

Nevertheless I took more than in most of the monthly marts, except for the Christmas one, during last year (one or two of those were abysmal).

I took the pic straight after I'd set up - the lady unloading the bottles is from the brewery where I buy the stout for Cwrw Du soap. Strange thing about this soap is that the bars I had with me were from the batch I made for the Christmas fairs and the beer aroma is stronger now than it was then (they've been sitting in their boxes) - she agreed with me.

I'd better make some more batches and keep them by!

I love your set-up. That new stall was definitley worth it. Your sunflower price tags are very cute as well.

But standing next to a brewery....oooh no. Not sure if I would be able to drive home after the market  :mwaha:

Sorry EJ, I missed this yesterday.  The stall looks fab.  It is quite a big stall isn't it.  It looks lovely and neat.  Really well done on doing so well despite the lower footfall.   :buttrf:

I did one today (only part of a table with another group) and even though we were under a gazebo the wind drove the rain in sideways and ruined quite a few labels.

Need to rethink my packaging if I am going to do outside markets .....

My outside one was fine today, it rained, sunned, showered, then dry but dull for the most part. Very few sales though  :(  Everyone was complaining that they had a rubbish day. For me, the good news is that I sold so little, I can take a night off  :D

Yes - I reckon the step display and new hessian was a good investment. The sunflower tags are from a florists' suppliers.

Ta. Takings were much better than the first month last season - so I hope that's a good sign.

The shelves were from Janie McDonald when she was selling off stuff afteer slosing her ebbay shop the other year and the wooden boxes with the soaps in are winebottle boxes - storage and display in one!

You take large sheets of polythene and some small spring clamps to clip to the uprights on the sides/ends of a market stall and one over the goods on the table (you reach under if a customer wants to see something).

Goodly looking stall Elaine, and I spotted your gorgeous felyt handbags on it. Did you sell them? One part of me hopes you did the other half hoping you didnt. Is tha bad of me?

No I didn't sell any of them today (I think they're more Craft Fair items than Produce Mart) so they're still available - on my Folksy site, I haven't put them on my website yet.
