Title: Hearts - Primitive or Stylish? Post by: EJ on December 31, 2009, 12:43:58 AM I can't stand the shape of hearts called "primitive" - to me they're ugly and ungainly and definitely unromantic.
However they're popular on cards, as hangers etc. and Valentine's Day looms so who prefers what? Title: Re: Hearts - Primitive or Stylish? Post by: Ɛyɔn :-) on December 31, 2009, 01:56:24 AM def not primitive for me.

Title: Re: Hearts - Primitive or Stylish? Post by: polly on December 31, 2009, 08:49:47 AM I don't know what primitive hearts are :-[
Title: Re: Hearts - Primitive or Stylish? Post by: EJ on December 31, 2009, 01:51:19 PM primitive heart
Title: Re: Hearts - Primitive or Stylish? Post by: Hayley on December 31, 2009, 04:00:47 PM I don't prefer the primitive shape I like a 'chubby chunky round' heart, feels warm and welcoming! x
Title: Re: Hearts - Primitive or Stylish? Post by: Honey on December 31, 2009, 05:28:38 PM I don't like most of the things called "primitive". You can get moulds for primitive heart soaps and they just look a mess to me.. not a fan. From what I've seen on the net, it's more of an American thing.
Title: Re: Hearts - Primitive or Stylish? Post by: polly on December 31, 2009, 06:48:01 PM I actually quit like these hearts. I've not seen the soap moulds and i can't imagine they would look all that nice. But I do like the wooden ones. I also bought mini pegs from John Lewis that had bright red cuddly hearts on them. I guess I just like love hearts.
Title: Re: Hearts - Primitive or Stylish? Post by: Honey on December 31, 2009, 07:29:11 PM The primitive ones I've seen are more knobbly on the top, like a kid made a heart and you don't want to criticise it but it's really rubbish :mwaha:
Title: Re: Hearts - Primitive or Stylish? Post by: EJ on December 31, 2009, 08:03:56 PM Couldn't find a more suitable pic to show - that's one of the better primitive ones, there are others more crudely shaped; they look as though "primitive" is an excuse for "can't draw/cut very well".
Title: Re: Hearts - Primitive or Stylish? Post by: polly on December 31, 2009, 08:55:22 PM This is the kind of hearts I like,
Title: Re: Hearts - Primitive or Stylish? Post by: EJ on December 31, 2009, 08:59:49 PM Yes - much more pleasing shape.
Title: Re: Hearts - Primitive or Stylish? Post by: Joy on January 01, 2010, 02:06:49 PM Sorry to be a pain but I like both sorts.
Title: Re: Hearts - Primitive or Stylish? Post by: EJ on January 01, 2010, 02:18:30 PM No need to apologise Joy - I was wondering whether there was a marked preference.
There are lots of stamps and diecuts using tthe primitive shape (and the curvy ones) but very few cookie or sugarpaste cutters - they're mostly the curvy style Title: Re: Hearts - Primitive or Stylish? Post by: Honey on January 01, 2010, 04:17:32 PM Hmmm think I've gotten mixed up between the primitive and the grubby style for soap moulds... don't like the grubby ones (don't even like the name).
Title: Re: Hearts - Primitive or Stylish? Post by: vivcarm on January 02, 2010, 02:35:54 PM I like the primitive ones, always did like to be different!
Title: Re: Hearts - Primitive or Stylish? Post by: JANE MALCOLM on April 20, 2010, 01:02:49 PM I like them all...the more mis-shapen the better. I'm not a big fan of the traditional 'short & fat' heart as I call it. Title: Re: Hearts - Primitive or Stylish? Post by: michaela on April 20, 2010, 01:05:36 PM I like both :buttrf:
