Post by: corrie on November 22, 2007, 08:31:20 PM Hi Win, cant be much help on the creams side of things but if you decide to make soaps there are some people here that will help with your questions. The best place to start sometimes is to buy a book or look online for recipes, try a few out then tweak them to suit your needs/wants. Many people here are in business and wont divulge their recipes, then others will. Look in the resources, there are many great recipes there.
Anyway :hi: and nice to meet you, hope you have fun ;D Title: Re: Its me! Post by: Helen on November 22, 2007, 08:48:54 PM Hi Win!!! :hi:
A very warm welcome. There are lovely and very helpful peeps here with a huge range of skills. Are you an aromatherapist Win? Zoe, Peter, Mai (was if I remember) and myself are therapists. You say you want to convert to all natural at home, I would like to convert all my treatments to all natural and all handmade at some point - they are just so fantastic!! I'm a creams, lotions, potions person and up until a few weeks ago, I was a total soap virgin. Oh how things have changed. Have you read my article The Weekend I Lost My Soap Virginity in resources? It might give you some inspiration to just dive in and give it a go ;) Be warned though.... it WILL be a new addiction ;D If you could give us an idea on the typical recipe you have been using, we might be able to help you tweak it a little? :) A big warm welcome anyway Win :yipee: Title: Re: Its me! hmmm your cream...maybe carriers that are very light and easily absorbed...with just distilled or floral H20's and your emulsifier...leave out the butters as most of them are very "greasy" on application...not sure if this would work, but worth a small sample play hey! xx Title: Re: Its me! I did send you a Private Message the other day - don't know if you've seen it. Title: Re: Its me! Post by: Chrissie on November 23, 2007, 12:09:05 PM Welcome Win,
Handmade products are so much nicer than the mass produced "stuff" that is on sale in shops. I'm sure you will soon be a sad label reader ;) Chrissie & 8 Gorgeous Guineas Title: Re: Its me! Post by: mai on November 24, 2007, 12:43:21 AM Hi Win,
welcome to the board, what oils are you using for your cream, maybe we can help you out. I'm an aromatherapist plus I make natural beauty products from lotions to soaps. I'm not so hot on cleaning products but do use and make a few natural ones. Mai |
