Title: Some advice please (kinda cheating). Post by: Eire on November 24, 2009, 09:24:18 PM I have a lot of plain candles, they are new and have very good fragrance. They are part of my standard year round range. I have been jazzing them up for christmas. One idea that I had was to melt some colours, use novelty cutters to make a christmas theme application. These have turned out fine but now I can't get the application to stick to the main candle.
To be clear, I don't make candles and am only a supplier (still waiting on Kevin's tuitorials :mwaha:). So I don;t want to do something that is not right. I tried using hot wax to get it to stick but it pops off with very little pressure, the only other idea that I came up with is a glue gun, but didn't know if it was safe. Can anyone advise please. Thanks Eire Oh that doesn't read quite right. These are not for my wholesale a/c's, my insurance wouldn't stand. It is for xmas pressies and also for an old folks centre, so safety is my main concern. If anyone thinks it's a bad idea, please just say so too. Title: Re: Some advice please (kinda cheating). Post by: Ɛyɔn :-) on December 18, 2009, 04:51:45 PM Eire mybe the applications are too weighty to adhere to the main body. I find it easier to etch the designs and brush wax into it not exactly the same but also gives a nice look.

Post by: Vicky on February 14, 2010, 01:16:18 AM I know this is an old thread, but i just thought i would post the solution just incase you wanted to try it. Theres such a thing called tacky wax, which is basically a wax glue. You just melt a bit, use a brush and brush it on to where you want to stick the shape, and push the shape on. I use it for glueing things on to my hurricane candles.

Title: Re: Some advice please (kinda cheating). Post by: Vicky on February 14, 2010, 05:32:48 PM I get mine from candelights, but they've since changed ownership and can't see it on their site now. But fullmoons cauldron also sell it, they call it stick wax but its the same thing.
They also sell a liquid wax glue, but this is better for sticking very thin lightweight things on to your candles. Title: Re: Some advice please (kinda cheating).
