Title: A Canadian in Bristol
Post by: fireweed on September 26, 2009, 05:57:02 PM
Hi there,

I'm relatively new to the UK and, having clearly expressed my lack of knowledge regarding UK soap making on an American forum, was warmly and generously invited to join this one!

My interests are wide, and though I feel I'm at the "connoisseur" stage of soapmaking, deciding what combinations I like best as opposed to just getting through the first few batches, I have so much to learn.  These days I'm enjoying HP, experimenting with castor oil soap and liquid soap.  I also have a keen interest in household and laundry soap.

Looking forward to getting to know you all :)

Hello - welcome.

Lots of soapmakers here - but there's only been one or two mentions of laundry soap for some reason.

Have a good look round and ask as many questions as you want.

I've heard that good laundry soap is cheap and of high quality in the UK, so maybe there's less motivation to explore it (but my obsession followed me here!)...  thanks for the greeting :)

Hi there and a very warm welcome.  Great to have you here.  I am not a soaper myself but love to follow soapie discussions and although I don't experiment with the methods, I feel I am getting better acquainted.  My interests are mainly aromatherapy and I find it so interesting listening to the experience of soapers and their relationship with EO's etc....  It has cast a whole different light on things for me.

I hope you enjoy it here, we are a very friendly lot and are all from different disciplines and at different levels of experience that seem to merge quite nicely together  :)

Good to have you here  :)

Hi there Fireweed
Welcome, and pull up a chair! I am a fellow soap maker and Bristol is my hometown, but have recently moved to Somerset, so you can probably see me waving from there! (if you stand on a hill!)

I do CP soap and now other things too, and am thoroughly enjoying myself. Looking forward to hearing more from you
Deejane
