Title: Hair Wax Stick
Post by: kevie192 on June 12, 2009, 08:18:01 PM
Hi all,

I've just been looking for a new hair product and remembered a product I used to use by Toni and Guy called X-Wax. It was in a large twist-up tube and was really good, and I remember Tigi also doing a version. So, I got googling and was amazed to see the list of ingredients:

One of them was: Castor seed oil, hydrogenated castor oil, beeswax, rhus succedanea fruit wax, candelilla wax, sorbitan stearate, bht, fragrance, benzyl benzoate, linalool.

The other is: petrolatum, paraffin, kaolin, cera alba(beeswax), zea mays(corn)starch, parfum(fragrance), butylphenyl methylproprional, hydroxymethyl, pentylcyclohexencarboxaldehyde, hydroxycitronellal, linalool, dipropylene glycol, citronellol.

So, the question is, is anyone prepared to make some up for me? It costs £8.80 in Boots so if you could do it for less than that it would be excellent. I know that it's a popular product and would be an excellent addition to any soapers range!

Kevin x

Aw... poor kev  :(  Why not have a bash at it yourself?  Could be a new addition to your range?  Hope you find a solution Kev  :)

I do one with jojoba wax, jojoba oil and mac oil if that's any good?

Wouldn't know where to start Helen!!

Sarah, what is the product like? Is it very hard (so you could use it in a stick?) What sort of hold does it give? Wet look or dry? Tried to find it on your site but failed :(

Thanks,

Kevin x

Kevin, the version I do isn't on the site as I've recently developed it for a customer. Hoping to add it at some stage though (or a similar version).
It's more of a pomade and gives a soft, dry look hold.
It could be easily made into a harder stick version.
What exactly are you looking for?

i think i have seen these in boots too and thought i could make something similar with clay for some reason as one i picked up had clay in it but the texture was very waxy and it doesn't leave any sediments, having never given it a bash, i am not offering just giving my tuppence.
