Title: Howdy! Post by: liana kay on May 28, 2009, 08:20:12 PM Hi , im a hairdresser looking to start yet another hobby - that i could possibly run alongside at some point - but not now as im freelance . Just up for a bit of experimenting really always been interested in science and alternatively- green things and self sufficancey.
Could anyone please tell me if you need to ge a safety assessment for something as simple as a bath bomb - bicarb ,citric acid few drops of lavender oil - im doing a jewellery stall in September and thought they may look pretty on the side , but as id be running it though my business i need everything to be ok . Soap and bath products would go well with hairdressing (as well as shampoo etc.) - but unfortunately you do need a cert even for a simple bath bomb. Take a good look round 'cos there's loads of info. Title: Re: Howdy! Post by: corrie on May 28, 2009, 08:44:22 PM Hiya Liana (lovely name btw)

Title: Re: Howdy! Post by: Helen on May 28, 2009, 08:53:30 PM Hi Liana!!
A very warm welcome to the forum. Ooh... having a lovely collection of goodies at the reception desk would be just too tempting for your clients. You will also really enjoy making them too ;) You may start with bath bombs but be warned, you will branch out doing other things too. Imagine, doing a signature treatment using a lovely mix of oils, scalp massage and lovely shiny locks to finish.... ah.... such a ferapeutic experience for your clients that would really set the salon apart from the rest ;) Anyway, I ramble... welcome and enjoy it here :) Title: Re: Howdy! Post by: liana kay on May 28, 2009, 08:59:03 PM Dont worry! I plan to start planning and making christmas presents first ! Cant wait to ge started theres just the small matter of my kitchen and bathroom being gutted to get around first - oh and the hairdressing/jewellery business and not frgeting the 2 kids around here somewhere - actually it would be nice to involve my son in the x mas present making - so melt and pour i guess!
